Felt like sitting together with well-known people…

Trip to Dublin:

Kilmainham Gaol

Croke park

Portugal

It was a very good choice because we could get to know more about the History of Ireland and how much the Irish had to fight for their rights.

The visit to the Croke Park complemented what we´ve learned about the Irish sports in the previous meeting.

We could have some time to visit the city or, at least, to have a bus guided tour.

Spain

We really enjoyed this visit! It was a way to learn a little about the recent history of Ireland in a brief and intense way!

Croke park was very interesting. We appreciated our guide, Tom. The hands on activities were excellent.

Romania

You couldn`t have chosen better! Thank you for the wonderful cultural and historical, both past and present, lesson you`ve taught us. We feel that both trips, made us richer and brought us closer to your nation and to your present way of living. We got a sense of the changes that influenced Irish people and culture along history. Therefore, the trips had also helped in reaching the objectives of the visit.

Poland

Lithuania

Very interesting. It was a great piece of Irish history.

It was really attractive but took too much time.

We learnt a lot about the history of Ireland, its language , people and culture.

It was organized according to the goals we had formulated at the very beginning of the project

We could see something more in Dublin

Some more sights of Dublin were great!

Dinner in school on Tuesday evening.

Quiz

Portugal

Great! Again the cosy atmosphere, the guests, the delicious home made food! The quiz was a great idea to sum up the main ideas and to involve both teachers and students.

———————–

Spain

Lithuania

The families were so kind to prepare this for us. It was a great meal to share. The quiz was a fun way to think over what we had learned and for all of us to see how much the kids had retained

The check up what we had found out was good! The atmosphere great!

Romania

Thank you for succeeding in making us feel so good, like in a big family. The food was delicious and we really appreciate the effort that you`d made in gathering the parents and cooking for us. Again, everything was very well organised. We especially loved the idea of having that quiz, that, from our point of view, represented the best closure you could have think of for summarising and revising the information we had been gathering during the day, about the two cultural visits we had.

Poland

Delicious

A good idea to consolidate the knowledge about what was visited

Visit to

Gray’s printing press

Portugal

It was a good way to get to know more about the History of Ireland and how much the Irish had to fight for their rights.

We could have some time to visit Strabane or, at least, to have a bus guided tour.

Spain

Great! This was a very original visit and a part of history that is fascinating.

Romania

For us it was interesting to see how an Irish printing press looks and looked like. It taught us a lesson on how important is to preserve and value your own traditions. It also helped us realize the importance and value of written texts, and acknowledge the changes that during the time, have occurred over the way people literally wrote and shared information to the nation.

Poland

Lithuania

We liked it

A good lesson how we have to cherish our cultural heritage

Exhibition of Song and Dance for all Gaelscoil pupils

Portugal

Great! The music and dance performances were so meaningful that we could feel the inner Irish “spirit”

This went really well. We have had experience with these presentations now with our other visits and it seems we’ve found how to best share in a short amount of time. It was a great idea to share with all the pupils of the school.

Romania

It was a great activity! We appreciate the serious effort each country has made, and the wonderful presentations. It was such an amazing show. Again, very well organised.

Poland

Lithuania

A great activity!

All the activities were carefully planned and the result was very good.

Lithuania

Our students were delighted they could learn some new sports /games.

A good new experience

PowerPoint presentations

Portugal

We could have a general idea about the main facts of the traditional music and dance of each country. The performances were great and involved the participants.

We should have more time to make our presentations.

Spain

Although the time was brief, we felt that we got just enough information from each country and we could later look at the posted information on the website.

Romania

The activity reached its purpose. We all got to know better the history of music and dance representative for each country.

Poland

They were really salutary. We wish we could show our presentation.

Informative,well-prepared

Dinner in school, mini-ceilí, traditional music

Visit to:

The Giants Causeway

The Cultúrlann

The Titanic museum

Portugal

It was an excellent choice because we could get to know more about the History of Ireland: the fight for national symbols, language, culture; the economy; natural landscapes and monuments.

The bus guided tour in Belfast was a great idea, too.

We should have more time in Giant´s Causeway.

Spain

We really enjoyed this visit and have some fantastic photos to share!

We had a great lunch followed by information on how people are fighting to maintain their language and share it with others.

This was an amazing museum. The visit was outstanding and we learned a lot.

Romania

Thank you for this trip! It was amazing to see that unique natural landscape and to hear the legend of the Giants Causeway.

We learned how the Irish nation fight to preserve traditions and national symbols, language.

The Titanic is the most amazing museum that we have ever visited. Thank you for offering us this chance!

Poland

Lithuania

Unforgettable views

Food, service and atmosphere very good.

Fantastic! It’s one of the best museums we’ve ever been in. It’s really hard to say which part of the museum was best. We liked everything.

That was unforgettable! We loved this trip very much.

Too little time for the Giants Causeway

Romania

Great meal, great atmosphere, great ending to the amazing week! Not only our children, but we have also enjoyed the dancing and the singing sessions!

Poland

We had great time.

Final meeting

Art activity for students

Portugal

The organising team managed well the difficult situation of the bomb threat. Thus we couldn´t make the final comments and sum up the main ideas of this meeting.

Romania

Lithuania

Although we regret the fact that we couldn`t finish our planned activity, we are happy that everything finished well!

Having given that `bomb` situation, we believe that you really couldn`t have managed things better in any other way. We were impressed by your tact and ability to stay calm, without panicking and to move us from the school without letting us realise how dangerous and real the situation really was.

A thrilling experience! And the lesson of how to stay calm in the face of threat!

Spain

This meeting was cut short, so we can’t evaluate it, but we can evaluate the efficiency and calmness of the staff in the school who took care of an unexpected situation in a very impressive manner.

Poland

Our students liked them very much especially playing your instruments.

Overall impression of our school – did you feel welcome!

Portugal

We felt very welcomed!

The activities were carefully organised and planned, which made our work easy and enjoyable. Communication and cooperation between all teachers and students involved in this meeting was, above all, natural and effective, which allowed us to fully achieve our aims.

The school board, the staff, the students and parents were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. School decoration was welcoming (there were posters and presents given by the Comenius Project partners).

Spain

We felt so welcome that we didn’t want to leave! It was a beautiful visit and has given us warm memories from Ireland.

Romania

We felt really welcomed and the week seemed too short. We really felt sorry that everything finished so quick!

Poland

Of course we did. You have wonderful children and the staff and parents were so friendly and helpful.

Overall impression of Ireland

Portugal

Great!

The cultural visits , the music and dance performances were inspiring and an unforgettable. This was a wealthy experience due to the location and characteristics of the region. It was also an excellent moment for socialisation. The activities performed were so enriching and meaningful that we could easily achieve one of the most important aims of this project – to share the cultural richness, concerning music and dance, of the host country.

Spain

A beautiful country with lovely people. We have so much left to explore!

Romania

Warm and happy people, well organised and very hardworking. I, personally, will sure come back! Thank you for everything!

Poland

Lithuania

It’s a really fascinating country . The views and landscapes are breathtaking. We hope to come back here some day.
